Six Years

It's been six years since we've said our vows. Six year of a lot of marriage in a short amount of time. Sometimes, I think we've been together much longer. Other times, I still think of myself as a brand new bride. Funny how that it is.

I married a man who knows what he wants out of life. He's very determined. We are both stubborn, and independent. He hates mushrooms. I could eat them raw. He likes a clean house. I like an organized house. He loves extreme adventure, and  I am much more cautious. He's a soft rock, and acoustic kind of guy. Give me my country and rock 'n roll, and I'm a happy girl. It's fun to see how God orchestrates the differences, and blends us into a well oiled team.

Precious Time

I think the most important lesson that I have learned (well...continually learning) is that time is precious. Something to be protected, and coveted. So many days, I choose things that are not worth my time. Things that take away from what matters most: my faith, and my family.

I'm trying to focus on things that are more important. It's just not always easy. I constantly feel pressured, and pulled by silly things.

Today, I held Evie just a bit longer than usual. I cuddled her without scrolling my phone. I played on the couch. Time well invested.

Lovely Things

Books: I just finished another book by Colleen Coble (review on Mrs. Southern Bride). That means I've read three books by her this year. I'm not joking when I say she's become a favorite!
Food: Talenti's Double Dark Chocolate Gelato. I mean...HELLO. Dark chocolate!
Music: Tim McGraw's old stuff. I bought a couple of his cd's and have been listening to them on repeat. I love country music.
Learning: To have more faith in myself.
Hoping: To find some new curtains for the living room, and finish our livig room makeover!

What's been on your radar lately?? <3

Makeup Dupes

I absolutely love trying new make-up. I love it even more when it's a dupe of a favorite more expensive brand. I've learned over the last year or so that my skin has changed a LOT due to pregnancy. I've had to change up my routine a LOT.

I also spent a lot of time on Pinterest, Instagram, and YouTube learning about drugstore options in order to save money while slowly chagning over my products. Here's a few of my favorite products that I have fallen in love with...

  • Maybelline's Age Rewind "Wand": This is such an amazing product. It even feels good when I put it on! I layer it with my dark under eye cream from elf, and it seems to help eliminate my dark circles when I take the time to put on make-up. And as any new mom knows, dark circles come with the territory. ;)
  • Elf Mineral Primer: I used to fork out the dough for expensive primers, but recently discovered them gem at Taret. It's only $6, plus it's a total dupe for Bare Minerals Primer. I am loving it!
  • Elf Brushes: I really, really needed new brushes, but didn't want to spend much. So, I read some review on Elf's brushes, and decided to give it a whirl. Their eyeshadow brush is my favorite, and I feel like it gives me great control when it comes to blending!
What are some of your favorite products?
